I liked the idea of \u200b\u200bwriting sooner or later something on storytelling and technology, in the end are a couple of years that we also work with students on this issue. Scrivo questo post non tanto per entrare nella discussione sui rapporti burrascosi tra Scienza e Fede, che intercorrono for almost 2000 years, how to recognize an important fact that perhaps for the first time recognizes the importance that Wikipedia has taken the universe of cultural artifacts shared by our company.

I refer to the offending sentence, just found on Wikipedia, on which the professors of Wisdom have built part of their attack against the Pope

According to many in the press, the blog citazione, tratta dell’e­pistemologo Paul K. Feyerabend, avulsa dal contesto del discorso, era fuorviante e Ratzinger in realtà avrebbe contestato affermando praticamente l'opposto.

Il "meme" che trapela dalla burrascosa vicenda è quindi che Wikipedia si conferma non attendibile, uno strumento che si presta a frodi intellettuali (!) eccetera eccetera...

Io penso invece che questo episodio consacri Wikipedia come strumento ormai accettato ed utilizzato non più solo da qualche blogger o navigatore distratto, ma proprio come elemento fondamentale della cultura partecipata della Rete nella quale siamo immersi.
Sono convinto perciò che da ora in poi il Vaticano presidierà con occhio attento tutto ciò che lo riguarda all'interno di Wikipedia.

Le critiche si spegneranno e la concezione di Wikipedia come fonte di una "cultura di serie B" si trasformerà nella consapevolezza che essa non vuole sostituirsi alle enciclopedie tradizionali ma semplicemente è stata la risposta dal basso alle esigenze degli utenti della Rete che avevano bisogno di uno strumento veloce, facile da utilizzare, partecipativo e...privo di costi nella consultazione. Wikipedia non è "migliore di Britannica" sono due cose diverse, Wikipedia è adatta alle correnti esigenze della Rete: quando non lo sarà più verrà sostituita da qualcos'altro più adatto.
